Winston Roberts was born in a small log cabin, the son of immigrant Lithuanian haberdashers.\u00a0 The bullies at school terrorized the son of immigrants often and with a fervor that impressed young Win.\u00a0 Being the son of a haberdasher, however, was even worse.\u00a0 Not being able to leave the house unless well-dressed (always with coat and tie) gave the bullies a tool for their tortures.\u00a0 They loved to play games like \u2018Let\u2019s tighten your noose\u2019 or \u2018Why are you choking yourself\u2019.<\/p>

After his schooling, Win sold himself into the indentured servitude that the modern slave trade euphemistically calls \u2018working for a living\u2019.\u00a0 Fun fact:\u00a0 this phrase, working for a living, when translated into ancient Sumerian, renders \u2018make the boss guy richer\u2019.\u00a0 Translated from ancient Tartessian it means, \u2018the boss needs to make a payment on his Bentley\u2019.<\/p>

Years upon years of that servitude inspired an epiphany in the young man.\u00a0 While he would never say the word, epiphany, aloud in public (it just sounds naughty), the experience changed Win, and some say for the better.\u00a0 Others are not so sure, but what do they know anyway?<\/p>

What can we say about good old Winston, or Win as his friends call him, that hasn\u2019t already been said.\u00a0 The term \u2018bio\u2019 refers to \u2018biography\u2019, which in the Greek connotes to a description of life, or a record or account of a life.\u00a0 While most would count Win Roberts as alive, there are few who would call him to account.\u00a0 Accountants might, but let\u2019s not dwell on what a man might or might not weigh in the great weighing scale of life.<\/p>

No, Win has led a life indeed, that is to say he not only breathed freely and often, but that he took up space in these three dimensions we profess to be our reality.\u00a0 And the more he ate, the more of that space he would occupy until, as is commonly the case, he became disgusted with the man he saw in the mirror.\u00a0 The rest is, as they say, history.\u00a0 Or maybe as no one says, \u2018his story\u2019.\u00a0 Or as many have found here, \u2018his stories\u2019.<\/p>

Win strives like most people to live in the soft creamy middle of life.\u00a0 That\u2019s where all the good stuff is \u2013 for proof consider the walnut.\u00a0 The walnut tree forms a hard shell around its kernel or seed to protect it from harm.\u00a0 It knows full well the creamy middle of the construction is what is prized.\u00a0 Both for itself and for any hungry squirrels that might happen by.\u00a0<\/p>

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Consider the walnut, friends.\u00a0 Consider the walnut.<\/p>

So, thus will end the bio of one Win(ston) Roberts.\u00a0 A man of mystery.\u00a0 A man given to understated hyperbole.\u00a0 A man who, when the chips are down, makes walnut butter.\u00a0<\/p>
